Mexico Mainland – Central

Stretching from Mazatlan in the north to Manzanillo in the southern end, the central coast of Mexico boasts a number of lovely anchorages, true cruiser hubs with every possible distraction, and decent marinas and facilities. Take your time and soak into the Gold Coast and Costalegre (the happy coast).

Weather is seasonal cyclical, but generally benign. Cabo Corrientes (Cape of Currents), at the southern entrance to Bahia Banderas, provides the largest obstacle, with nearly always southbound current, and often higher wind speeds squeezing around this land mass.
