“Nature’s Little Secrets” is an apt marketing phrase for these gorgeous islands of varying character, but one could probably argue that the secret has been out now for some time. When people think of the Virgin Islands, it is usually the perfect sand beaches, primo snorkeling and funky beach bars of the BVI that they are dreaming of.
While the BVI certainly doesn’t hold a monopoly on such amenities (see also the USVI and Spanish Virgins), this is where the exhilarating and debaucherous escapades of most charterers begin, and the place to which cruising sailors the world over make pilgrimages by the hundreds, year after year. Click on the chart below to discover some of the reasons why. The BVI is reached quickly from the USVI via ferry (schedule).
Contrary to popular belief, we’re HUGE fans of printed cruising guides, and consider them essential gear for cruising any coast. Below are the OCG recommended guides for this area. Following the links and purchasing these cruising guides (or anything else) helps fund OCG through a small commission. Thanks!
