Quiet Anchorage on the East Side
This is a quiet, secluded bay next to a lagoon with no cars or foot traffic. Great stop along east side of Espiritu Santo to relax after La Paz, and get protection from Coromuel winds. Stronger north winds will likely cause waves to wrap around the rounded point and into the anchorage.
Other than giving room to the headlands north or south, come right in.
Anchor in 20-30 feet with sandy bottom. Good holding even during Coromuel winds. Sea state very calm during Coromuels, but wind flows through the gap over the island. Darker bottom areas on the northern edge of anchorage appear to be grass, but are actually rocks with growth on them. Avoid.
The shoreline is rocky with sea urchins. We found no spot to beach the dinghy or walk along the shoreline.
The sunrises lighting up the canyon and the stars at night.
